Perm pre-treatment

0 like 0 dislike
My new hairdresser gave me a perm last week.  She insisted on doing what she called a “pre-treatment” before beginning to roll my hair. What’s that all about?

Pre-treating hair has become a wise thing to do. It’s very possible for hair to have “build up”, given the fact that so many of us now use styling products. While professional styling products almost always wash out each time, there are those products sold in retail stores that cause “buildup”, ie: layers of product left behind following washing. Pre-treating also removes buildup caused from minerals in water...well water especially. And then, there are those medicines that can prevent a permanent solution from being effective. By performing a “pre-treatment service” prior to the perm, your stylist is trying to insure the best possible result for your hair by removing all residue from the hair.
